ABSTRACT

Stoma complications occurring after the initial rehabilitation of the patient have a major impact on stoma function and the patient's quality of life. Timely assessment and management is crucial in minimizing morbidity, as well as containing community and hospital costs. This article describes late stoma complications and reviews the current literature to propose appropriate management strategies.
