The following is a compilation of potential clinical interventions and management recommendations for the prevention or initial management of a patient who is at risk for sleep-disordered breathing by current criteria. The recommendations are modeled after cardiovascular risk control models (e.g., Smith et al, Circulation 1995;92:2-4) and are at present unverified by clinical trials.
