In this issue of Seminars in Reproductive Medicine Dr. Karen D. Bradshaw serves as guest editor. The topic of this issue is “Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology.” Dr. Bradshaw grew up in Texarkana, Texas. She graduated summa cum laude from Texas A&M University. She attended The University of Texas Southwestern Medical School and completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas. During that time I had the pleasure of meeting Karen, and I served as her mentor as a postdoctoral fellow in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at UT Southwestern Medical School. Afterward she moved to Boston, Massachusetts to join Tufts University faculty. The lure of Texas brought her back to UT Southwestern where she rose from assistant to full professor and now holds the Helen J. and Robert S. Strauss and Diana K. and Richard C. Strauss Distinguished Professorship in Women's Health. She is also the Director of the UT Southwestern Lowe Foundation Center for Women's Preventative Health Care. She has held several university appointments and is nationally and internationally recognized. She is an examiner for the Annual Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, President-Elect of the Society for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, and on the American Society for Reproductive Medicine Board of Directors. Dr. Bradshaw has focused much of her past interest in pediatric and adolescent gynecology. Karen has brought together several outstanding physicians and researchers in the development of this issue on Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology.
