Medikation und Überwachung bei endoskopischen Eingriffen - für wen, wann und wie?

Zusammenfassung

Endoskopische Untersuchungen erfordern häufig eine adäquate Sedierung des Patienten insbesondere bei therapeutischen Interventionen. Hierbei bieten neuere kurzwirksame Medikamente den Vorteil einer guten Steuerbarkeit der gewünschten Sedierungstiefe, die abhängig von der Art und dem Umfang der Untersuchung ist. Ein entsprechendes Patientenmonitoring ist hierbei obligat. Neue Monitoring- und patientengesteuerte Applikationsverfahren, sowie die Möglichkeit der Sedierung durch nicht ärztliches Assistenzpersonal eröffnen hier neue Perspektiven zur Minimierung von Komplikationen und der Vereinfachung der Sedierung, möglichst auch für den ambulanten Bereich.

Abstract

Endoscopic procedures frequently require an appropriate sedation of the patient, especially during therapeutic interventions. New short acting medications offer the advantage of a good control concerning the depth of sedation, which depends on the mode and complexity of the investigation. An appropriate monitoring of the patient is therefore mandatory. New monitoring- and patient-controlled application procedures and the possibility of nurse-administered sedation offer new options to minimize complications and to simplify the application, especially for the outpatient setting.
