Zusammenfassung
Zu den sieben Knochen der Schädelbasis zählen das Os ethmoidale und sphenoidale. Während
Ersteres sich am Aufbau von Schädelbasis, Nasenhöhlen und Orbitae beteiligt, markiert
das Sphenoid mit seinen zahlreichen Durchtrittstellen das “Fundament der zentralen
Schädelbasis”. Vielfältig in Form und Größe sind die dazugehörenden Sinus ethmoidalis
und sphenoidalis.

The sphenoid and ethmoid bones and the paranasal sinuses
The ethmoid and sphenoid bones are part of the group of seven bones forming the skull
base. The ethmoid bone plays a part in the structure of the skull base, the sinuses
and the orbita. The sphenoid with its numerous passages marks the “fundament of the
central skull base”. Their related ethmoid and sphenoid sinuses are manifold in shape
and size.

Anatomie de la base du crâne: os du sphénoïde, os de l’ethmoïde et sinus paranasaux
L’os ethmoïde et l’os sphénoïde comptent parmi les sept os de la base du crâne. Alors
que le premier participe à la constitution de la base du crâne, des fosses nasales
et des orbites, l’os sphénoïde avec ses nombreux orifices participe au «fondement
de la base centrale du crâne». Les sinus correspondants varient dans leur forme et
leur grosseur.
