Manuelle Therapie (Manipulation/Mobilisation)[1]

Definition

Die Manipulation der Wirbelsäule ist als auf ein Gelenk gerichteter Impuls mit hoher Geschwindigkeit definiert, der mit einer Gelenkbewegung außerhalb seiner natürlichen Grenzen verbunden ist.

Mobilisation der Wirbelsäule bedeutet passive Bewegung von Gelenken mit geringer Geschwindigkeit innerhalb der natürlichen Bewegungsgrenzen oder am natürlichen Bewegungslimit [12] [33]. Die meisten Untersuchungen unterscheiden nicht eindeutig zwischen diesen beiden Formen der manuellen Therapie, weil beide Behandlungen in der klinischen Praxis oft kombiniert werden [24]. Insofern sind isolierte Aussagen zur Evidenz kaum möglich (Diskussion: [16]).
