ABSTRACT

The authors report a rare case of Salmonella typhi osteomyelitis involving the distal radius. The patient was treated successfully by wide resection and reconstruction of the distal radius with a vas-cularized fibular transfer. Local recurrence of Infection did not occur. The free vascularlzed fibular graft is an effective procedure for the treatment of osteomyelitis of the distal radius.
