ENOTHE-Projekt „ET-Fachterminologie” - Beitrag zur Entwicklung einer (deutschen) Fachsprache in der Ergotherapie

Zusammenfassung

Einleitung: Der aktuelle Professionalisierungsprozess in der Ergotherapie macht eine klare Fachsprache erforderlich. Dabei steht die Klärung all jener Begriffe im Vordergrund, die Tun und Handeln betreffen.

Methode: Das ENOTHE-Terminologieprojekt versucht, mit der Entwicklung von Konsensdefinitionen die Inhalte und Bedeutungen hinter grundlegenden Begriffen der Ergotherapie zu klären. Außerdem wird erörtert, was die Ergebnisse zur aktuellen Diskussion um ergotherapeutische Fachterminologie beitragen können.

Ergebnisse: Für 24 Begriffe, die ergotherapeutisches Denken und Handeln beschreiben, gibt es jeweils eine Konsensdefinition, von denen 18 bereits ins Deutsche und ein weiterer Teil in acht andere Sprachen übersetzt wurden.

Schlussfolgerungen: Die Konsensdefinitionen sind nicht als endgültige Ergebnisse, sondern als ein Beitrag zur weiteren Entwicklung der ergotherapeutischen Fachsprache zu betrachten.

Abstract

Introduction: The ongoing professionalisation process in occupational therapy requires a distinct terminology focussing in particular on the clarification of all terms related to occupation and participation. Method: The ENOTHE terminology project aims to determine the substance and meaning behind elementary terms of occupational therapy by developing consensus definitions. In addition, the project portrays how the results can contribute to further development of occupational therapy terminology. Results: Consensus definitions have been derived for 24 terms related to occupational therapy concepts and activity of which 18 have been translated into German and several terms into eight other languages. Conclusions: The consensus definitions cannot be considered as a ultimate result but rather as a contribution to the further development of occupational therapy terminology.
