Geschlechtseffekte und Bildgebung - Strukturelle und funktionelle Unterschiede
Gender specific differences and imagingPublication History
Publication Date:
06 June 2007 (online)

Gender specific differences in behaviors, interaction and mental functions are evident in everyday life; research, however, has attended to the related responsible neuronal correlates for a short time only. Differences and similarities of biological processes are of particular importance, especially in the gender specific observation of mental disorders. In the medium term modern imaging methods may contribute essentially to elucidation in different levels of function and structure of the brain. The following paper summarizes critically the present level of gender effect and imaging, especially concerning healthy subject trials and schizophrenia as well as affective disorders.
Key words
gender effect - imaging - MRI - schizophrenia - affective disorder
