A study of serum electrolyte and thyroid hormone changes in Iodum provers

Abstract

An attempt was made to evaluate changes of serum Na+, K+, T3 and T4 in healthy provers after treatment with Iodum. Iodum 12x was administered to a group of 11 healthy female students for 21 days. Serum Na+, K+, T3 and T4 were estimated before exhibition of the drug, and on the 11th and the last day of the trial. T3 showed an increase by 20% and T4 by 5%. Both Na+ and K+ were found to decrease, Na+ by 2%, K+ by 6%.
