The Lack of Effect of Electrochemical Stimulation of the Hypothalamus and Median Eminence on the Plasma Corticosterone Level after Lesion of the Paraventricular Nuclei

Summary
Electrochemical stimulation of the median eminence of intact rats causes a significant increase in plasma corticosterone level, while the same stimulation within the middle part of the medial basal hypothalamus outside the median eminence is ineffective. Partial removal of the paraventricular nuclei greatly reduces, while complete lesion abolishes the above effect of electrochemical stimulation of the median eminence upon plasma corticosterone level.
