We are pleased to present this volume of Seminars in Musculoskeletal Radiology, “Updates on Anatomical Variants in MSK Imaging,” offering several relevant contributions on the topic.

First, we wish to thank all the authors for their outstanding contributions to this issue. The topic of variants in the musculoskeletal system is certainly not new. But, a more in-depth knowledge of anatomy and improved technical advancements in musculoskeletal imaging have provided fresh insights about anatomical variants. All the authors reported their experience of imaging findings commonly encountered in clinical practice.

This issue covers most of the major joints of the upper and lower limbs, with two specific articles focused on anatomical variants of the nerves of the upper and lower limbs and their clinical and preoperative relevance. We believe this is a very timely topic for radiologists because knowledge about abnormal nerve course is crucial to help orthopaedists avoid complications during surgery. We have also included an article on anatomical variants of the sacroiliac joints that are commonly encountered in clinical practice.

We hope you will find these articles informative and useful in your work and enjoy reading them as much as we did while preparing this issue. Finally, we would like to express our gratitude to the editors for giving us the opportunity to act as guest editors for this issue of Seminars.
