Dr. Harry L. Reynolds, Jr. is an Assistant Professor of Surgery at Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio, and the Director of the Colorectal Cancer Surgery Section of the University Hospitals of Cleveland. Harry was born in Modesto, California. He received a B.S. in Bioengineering from Syracuse University, Syracuse, New York, and an M.D. from Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) School of Medicine in Cleveland, under a Health Profession Scholarship. He completed his internship and General Surgery Residency at University Hospitals of Cleveland. He then spent 4 years on active duty with the U.S. Air Force as a Flight Surgeon and Chief of Surgical Services, 22nd Medical Group, McConnell Air Force Base, Wichita, Kansas. From 1995 through 1996, he did his Colon and Rectal Surgery residency/fellowship training at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation.

Harry spent a year as a Staff Surgeon at the Ohio Permanente Medical Group, Cleveland Clinic Foundation. Then in 1997, he joined the staff at Case Western. He is board certified in General Surgery and Colon and Rectal Surgery. Harry also remains a Lt. Colonel in the Ohio Air National Guard; he serves as Chief of Aerospace Medicine. Of late, he has had multiple deployments to Kuwait, Turkey, Iraq, and Morocco. Since Hurricane Katrina, he has traveled to New Orleans as well.

Dr. Reynolds maintains a busy clinical practice at Case Western Reserve University, a large referral center that uses a multidisciplinary approach to manage rectal cancer. In addition to his clinical activities, Harry is an active researcher and participant in the general surgery residency program. He is a member of numerous professional associations. In addition, he has published multiple peer-reviewed articles and book chapters.

Harry, his wife, Patricia, an OB/GYN physician and their three children live in Cleveland. When not working or serving his country, Harry enjoys flying, fishing, basketball, and running.
