Abstract

Computed tomographic angiography (CTA) represents an important, relatively noninvasive method by which many arteries may be imaged. The following article outlines basic technical aspects of spiral CT, the collection of data and generation of images, limitations, and artifacts of CTA, and protocols used by the authors for selected vascular structures are presented.
