Abstract

Arthroscopic-assisted reduction and internal fixation of displaced intra-articular fractures of the distal radius is a useful adjunct in the management of these complex injuries. This paper describes an arthroscopic technique to reduce and internally fix the anterior endplate articular surface with subchondral wires to create a two-part fracture. The wire configuration resembles a scaffold so that the distal fracture component can then be indirectly reduced using a volar locking plate to correct the anteroposterior and radioulnar inclination of the articular surface of the distal fragment.
