Kosten der Raucherentwöhnung in Deutschland
Cost of Smoking Cessation in GermanyAuthors
Abstract
This study compared the cost-effectiveness of various methods for smoking cessation. For this purpose, a decision analysis model in the form of a decision tree was used to represent: a. the probabilities of choosing a tobacco smoking cessation method. b. what probability the method has for a successful tobacco smoking cessation. The success of e-cigarettes is almost twice as high at 9.7% as withdrawal without aids (5.0%) and also more successful than nicotine replacement therapies (7.5%) and tobacco nicotine pouches (6.7%). The ICER for e-cigarettes is € 309, for nicotine pouches € 601, for NRT € 147 and without aids € 0. This makes the e-cigarette the most successful alternative for smoking cessation and NRT the least cost-intensive next to no aids at all.
