Asymmetric Aziridination of Enones

Significance

Melchiorre and co-workers report an asymmetric amine conjugate addition to enones that forms protected ketoaziridines with high stereoselectivities. Linear and cyclic α,β-unsaturated ketones undergo this reaction. Remarkable is the high enantioselectivity for cyclic ketones since a highly enantioselective aziridination of cyclic enones had not yet been described.
