Hydroformylation of Homoallylic Azides: A Rapid Approach toward Alkaloids

The authors report in this manuscript an unprecedented hydroformylation of homoallylic azides using syngas under rhodium/biphephos catalysis. The yields of the hydro-formylation are generally very good and the resulting azido-functionalized aldehydes are readily converted into alkaloid structures in one-pot sequences.
