Significance

The authors described the development of an efficient one-pot synthesis of 1,4-benzoxazines through copper-catalyzed three-component coupling reactions. The resulting 1,4-benzoxazines were obtained in good to high yields. Furthermore, the O-annulation proceeded in a completely regio- and stereoselective manner. Only the six-membered rings and Z-isomers were obtained.
