Significance

Efficient catalytic methods of ­hydroboration are a continued effort of several ­research groups. Particularly important are enan­tioselective variants of these transformations. ­Discussed in this communication is the ongoing research of metal N-heterocyclic carbene catalysts in this group. Specifically, a copper-catalyzed N-heterocyclic carbene which promotes the hydro­boration reaction efficiently.
