Significance

Subglutinol A, a non-toxic metabolite of the fungus Fusarium subglutinans, displays immunosuppressive activity (IC50 = 25 nM, MLR assay) and some osteogenic (i.e. bone-forming) efficacy, unlike the immunosuppressants cyclo-sporin and FK-506 which can cause osteoporosis.
