Zusammenfassung

Der Beitrag gibt einen Überblick über Methoden der experimentellen Psycholinguistik zur Erforschung von Sprachstörungen, wobei der Fokus auf pragmatischen Störungen liegt. Ausgehend von einer Darstellung des Gegenstands und der interdisziplinären Fundierung der Psycholinguistik wird die experimentelle Methode erläutert. Deren Beitrag zur Entwicklung psycholinguistischer Modelle der Sprachverarbeitung – welche als Hintergrund zur Einordnung von Sprachstörungen dienen – wird anhand des klassischen Ansatzes von Marshall und Newcombe [6] zum Wortlesen diskutiert. Am Beispiel von indirekten Sprechakten bzw. konversationellen Implikaturen und figurativer Sprache wird skizziert, in welcher Weise die systematische Variation kognitiv ursächlicher Variablen zum Verständnis der an der pragmatischen Sprachverarbeitung beteiligten Prozesskomponenten beitragen kann.

Abstract

Focusing on pragmatic disorders, this article provides an overview of experimental psycholinguistic methods for studying language disorders. Using a description of the subject and the interdisciplinary foundations of psycholinguistics as starting points, the experimental method is explained and its contribution towards psycholinguistic models, which can be used for determining the locus of impairment, is discussed and exemplified with Marshall and Newcombe's [6] classical approach to word reading. Studies on indirect speech acts, conversational implicatures and figurative language illustrate how a systematic variation of cognitively causal variables can contribute to an understanding of the process components in pragmatic language processing.
