Significance

The catalytic dynamic resolution (CDR) of racemic N-Boc-2-lithiopiperidine using a chiral additive enables after transmetalation to zinc the highly enantioselective synthesis of 2-­arylated or 2-vinylated piperidines by palladium-catalyzed cross-coupling reactions.
