Significance

The expanded porphyrin 3, incorporating two pyrazole and four pyrrole units, was obtained from the key building block 1. Interestingly, this molecule involves nonaromatic π-systems due to the replacement of pyrroles by pyrazoles, whereas general porphyrins show aromatic conjugations.
