Significance

A new palladium-catalyzed 1,1-aryl-oxygenation of terminal olefins using organostannanes and hypervalent iodine oxidants is reported. The reaction connects these three components by creating a C-C and a C-O bond as well as a new stereocenter in a single transformation.
