Significance

A novel chiral NHC ligand bearing a 2,2′-bisquinoline-based C ₂-symmmetric structure was developed and can be used for asymmetric palladium-catalyzed intramolecular α-arylation of amides to give substituted oxindoles with good to excellent yields and enantioselectivities.
