Selection in Scopus

It is with great pleasure that I informyou all that the Journal of Hand and Microsurgery has been selected into the SCOPUS since 2021. Though a long wait, it has become a reality now! It did not come unexpected, but as a fruit of hard work, dedication, quality articles worldwide, and expanding citations. It is the time to thank all those who stood with us through this journey. Incredible support came from the managing CEO, executive editors, and the entire Journal of Hand and Microsurgery team that blended fragrant flavor into this endeavor.

Our journal was born in 2008 to be a journal for all. With this in mind, we directed our focus to publish systematic reviews, meta-analyses, experimental studies, along with research articles.We felt that the beauty of the journal lies in indexing and wisdom. Also, we kept low instead of roars in the thunders. Squarely, indexing became a vital factor in our journal’s progress and sprawling growth. Since its inception, our journal was indexed in PubMed Central (PMC), Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI), Google Scholar, Academic OneFile, Expanded Academic, OCLC, SCImago, Summon by ProQuest, EBSCO, and ProQuest. SCOPUS became an insufficient and irresistible temptation.

In 2017, we prepped ourselves for the SCOPUS entry with lots of positive vibes. However, application rejection welcomed us. This does not mean we were not good enough, rather it directed us toward a learning experience, optimism, and best preparation. We focused on our journal publishing quality with this motivation, which always remained our home run. Blind peer-review, sincere and intelligent reviewers, along with our editorial team put their thoughts and skillfully accepted great hallmarked articles.[1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] [7] [8] [9] [10] [11] [12] [13]

COVID-19 struck us badly, losing our near and dear ones in early 2020. Most countries reeled toward lockdowns, disrupting normalcy. Suddenly, we noted a deluge of submissions to our journal with authors presenting their long-due articles. Burden hit us in reviewing the papers and setting the decisions on time. Nevertheless, we faced this challenging situation, delivered our journal issues on time, and featured as usual. The journal received a 200% increase in submissions during 2020-2021,whichwas effectivelymanaged. Rising to the journal’s quality, citations exponentially boomed for us. With quality and quantity, we applied again for the SCOPUS in 2021.

The long-awaited spectacular news of acceptance poured in from the SCOPUS the same year. I attribute this gifted success to the diligence and hard work of the entire team for their perseverance, sacrifice, and determination in achieving this. Caving in SCOPUS was necessary to communicate our publishing quality that directs to the philosophy of worthy publishing. So, it is time to rejoice and cheer, but we also need to keep our momentum well ignited and focused on setting more benchmark achievements.
