Significance

ArgoPore-Wang resin-supported chiral rhodium(II) catalysts 1A-E were prepared from resin 1 having a pyridine coordination group and chiral dirhodium(II) complexes A-E by simple mixing. Asymmetric inter- and intramolecular cyclopropanation of alkenes with diazo compounds were carried out with 1A-E to give up to 95% ee of cyclopropanes (e.g., equation 2). Intramolecular C-H insertions were also promoted by 1A-E with good enantioselectivity.
