Significance

The authors have shown that chiral cubane-type structures of clusters can be excised with a chiral diphosphine. This chiral, enantioenriched cluster was shown to be a viable catalyst for both the intra- and intermolecular asymmetric cyclopropanation of diazo compounds (up to 20 and 21% ee, respectively).
