Significance

In this communication, Takeuchi, Shinkai and coworkers reported the aligned conjugate polymer assemblies that are stabilized by olefin metathesis. Zinc porphyrins in the aligner molecule cooperatively recognized the amine moieties of the conjugate polymers, thus producing well-aligned supramolecular assemblies. These thermodynamic bundles were further stabilized through poly-pseudo-rotaxane formation via olefin metathesis. Immobilized structures were proved to be robust when treated with acids, which should dissociate the aligner and the conjugate polymers.
