Significance

Aspidophytine is a member of the structurally diverse Aspidosperma alkaloid family of natural products that display a wide range of interesting biological activity. Padwa and Mejia-Oneto report a novel approach to (±)-Aspidophytine utilizing a Rh(II) cyclization/[3+2] cycloaddition cascade.
