Significance

Macroporous polystyrene-supported IBX amide 3 (MPS-IBX) was prepared in two simple steps from resin 1. The polymeric reagent 3 was evaluated for its efficiency of alcohol oxidation giving to the carbonyl compounds in various solvents (10 examples). The reduced MPS-IBX amide resin, the co-product of the oxidation, was activated by oxidation with tetrabutylammonium oxone and reused five times.
