Significance

Porco’s group has developed an efficient method for addition of various carbon nucleophiles to phosphinylimines. The generation of unexpected trifluoroacetamide products indicates novel mechanistic details for the lanthanum/tri­fluoroacetic anhydride mediated addition reaction.
