Significance

Multisubstituted pyrroles are important skeletons for biologically active compounds and natural products. In this article, a new mild way for the synthesis of 2,5-di- and 2,4,5-trisubstituted pyrroles from dienyl azides is reported. The reaction proceeds even at room temperature with inexpensive ZnI2 as catalyst.
