Ruthenium-Catalyzed Regio- and Enantioselective O-Allylation

A highly regio- and enantioselective O-allylation of phenols and alcohols is described using a planar-chiral cyclopentadienyl ruthenium complex. Allylation predominantly takes place at the more substituted allylic carbon, producing high branched/linear ratios.
