Der konnatale Hydrozephalus - Langzeitbeobachtung beim konnatalen Hydrozephalus

Abstract

In long-term follow-up particular attention is given to the psychomotor development, shunt function and the required shunt revisions. With regard to these details an attempt is made to establish the prognosis. It seems that this can be derived mostly from the development in the first few months, from the EEG and the original head circumference. Intensive adjuvant therapy can distinctly improve the prognosis, i. e. the development. The number of shunt revisions was 1.3 per patient, and had no influence on the prognosis.

Zusammenfassung

Bei der Langzeitbeobachtung wird vor allem auf die psychomotorische Entwicklung geachtet sowie auf die Funktion des Shunts und die notwendigen Shuntrevisionen. Anhand dieser Angaben wird versucht, eine Aussage über die Prognose zu machen. Es scheint, daß dies vor allem aus der Entwicklung während der ersten Monate ersehen werden kann sowie aus dem EEG und dem ursprünglichen Kopfumfang. Intensive adjuvante Therapien können die Prognose bzw. die Entwicklung deutlich verbessern. Die Zahl der Shuntrevisionen betrug 1,3 pro Patient, sie hatten keinen Einfluß auf die Prognose.
