Zusammenfassung

Während eines einwöchigen Arbeitsbesuchs auf den Komoren wurden 386 Patienten untersucht.

Dabei fiel ein häufiges Vorkommen von Glaukom und Myopie auf. Vorschläge für eine Verringerung der gegenwärtigen Probleme auf diesen ophthalmologisch unterversorgten Inseln werden gemacht.

Summary

During a one-week visit to the Comoros 386 patients were examined. A high incidence of glaucoma and myopia was observed. Suggestions are made for alleviating the present ophthalmic problems on these islands, where facilities are lacking.
