Significance

A novel Pt catalyst, (IPr)Pt(AE), was developed and efficiently used in regio- and ste­reoselective hydrosilylation reactions with terminal and internal alkenes. The reaction displays a preference for the cis addition to the less hindered terminus of the respective alkynes.
