Das Leitsymptom Epiphora kann neben einer Hypersekretion oder funktionellen Tränenabflussbehinderung
auch durch eine anatomische Tränenwegsobstruktion bedingt sein. Hierbei kann eine
relative Obstruktion (Stenose) oder absolute Obstruktion (Verschluss) vorliegen. Eine
einfache und schnelle Methode zur Diagnostik und Lokalisation oder zum Ausschluss
einer Obstruktion ist die Tränenwegsspülung.
Abstract
Besides hypersecretion and functional impairment, epiphora can be caused by anatomical
obstruction of the nasolacrimal duct system. It has to be differentiated between a
stenosis or complete obstruction. A simple and efficient method to diagnose and localise
an obstruction is the irrigation of the nasolacrimal system.
