Die laterale Sprunggelenksverletzung ist eine der häufigsten Sportverletzungen [1]. Die Patienten beschreiben lang anhaltende persistierende Symptome mit einem Instabilitätsgefühl. Von einer chronischen Sprunggelenksinstabilität (chronic ankle instability, CAI) spricht man jedoch erst, wenn es zu dem Gefühl wiederkehrender „Giving-ways“ kommt [2].
