Background

Corneal cross-linking (CXL) is a widely accepted treatment to halt progressive keratoconus. Complications such as infectious keratitis, persistent epithelial defects, and haze formation are known [1]. Crystalline keratopathy is an important clinical entity caused by a diverse range of etiologies and with potentially serious ocular and systemic implications. Clinically, patients present with needle-like branching opacities and the absence of corneal or anterior segment inflammation. Diagnosis as well as treatment are difficult.
