Significance

N-Allyl amino acids and peptides are key substrates for the synthesis of various macrocyclic peptides with prominent bioactivity. Here, the authors developed the palladium-catalyzed N-allylation of N-tosylated and trifluoroacetylated amino acids and peptides with allyl carbonates.

Comment

N-Allylation of N-tosylated and trifluoroacetylated amino acids and peptides proceeded with the help of a palladium catalyst to afford the desired products in excellent yields. This protocol proceeded under mild reaction conditions without the use of a strong base.
