Keywords
covalent organic frameworks (COFs) - oligo-amide macrocycles - cleavable COF - C–C double bond cleavage
Significance
Controlled fragmentation of covalent-organic-frameworks (COFs) into well-defined macrocyclic molecules is achieved.
Comment
COFs containing C–C double-bond linkages are first constructed via Schiff base ligation.
Upon post-oxidation, imine groups are converted into amides, such that orthogonal
ozone oxidation cleavage is conducted with the vinylene units, affording the macrocycle
products.
