Significance

Callystatin A is a member of the leptomycin family of natural products which show cell-cycle regulating, antifungal and antiviral activities. The key step of this relatively short and convergent synthesis is a titanium alkoxide-mediated reductive alkyne-alkyne cross-coupling.
