Significance

Amathaspiramide F was isolated from the marine bryozoan Amathia wilsoni. Some members of the amathaspiramide family show potential antimicrobial, antiviral and cytotoxic activity. The synthesis features diastereoselective formation of the quaternary carbon center in C via an enolate Claisen rearrangement (BC).
