Significance

The authors report a highly dia­stereoselective anti-aminoallylation of aldehydes under ruthenium-catalyzed transfer hydrogenation conditions providing 1,2-amino alcohols. Previous reports of ruthenium-catalyzed allylations lacked stereocontrol.
