Significance

The analogue M of the antidepressant reboxetine is being investigated as a dual ­noradrenaline and serotonin reuptake inhibitor. The synthesis depicted features an efficient lipase-catalyzed kinetic resolution of the morpholine-2-carboxylic ester derivative D as a key step.
