Aqueous Suzuki Reactions with PdEDTA in SiO2-Ionic Liquid

Significance

PdEDTA held in SiO2-diimidazolium ionic liquids (A-D) was prepared by ion-exchange reaction of SiO2-BisILsR[Cl] with an aqueous PdEDTA solution. The catalyst A promoted the Suzuki-Miyaura cross-coupling of aryl halides 1 with arylboronic acids 2 in water to give the corresponding biaryls 3 in 66-99% yield (41 examples).
