Epoxidation of Olefins with Nanoparticle-Supported Mo Complexes

Significance

Oxodiperoxo molydenum complexes grafted on silica-coated magnetic nanoparticles 1Mo@SMNP and 2Mo@SMNP catalyzed the epoxidation of olefins with t-BuOOK in up to 96% and 58% yield, respectively (10 examples). In the reaction of cyclooctene, the catalysts were recovered by magnetic separation and reused five times (average 94% and 53% yield in six times, respectively).
