Significance

A rhodium(I)/QuinoxP* system catalyzed the intermolecular hydroacylation reaction between aliphatic aldehydes and 1,1-disubstituted alkenes or a trisubstituted alkene was developed. Good yields and excellent ee values were obtained for a number of substrates. Bidentate coordination of substituted acrylamides to cationic rhodium was proposed to be important for stabilizing the acylrhodium intermediate and construct a rigid chiral environment.
